Effective 2026-07-29 · Applies to the CarFixGPT mobile app (iOS and Android)
These terms govern your use of CarFixGPT. By creating an account, continuing as a guest, or otherwise using the app, you agree to them.
1What CarFixGPT is — and isn't
CarFixGPT is an AI-powered assistant that helps you understand car problems: interpreting symptoms, OBD-II trouble codes, unusual sounds, and warning lights, and suggesting diagnostic and repair steps.
CarFixGPT does not replace a professional mechanic. Its guidance is informational. For anything safety-critical — brakes, steering, airbags, fuel-system leaks, high-voltage EV/hybrid components, or any situation involving smoke, fire, or an unusual smell — stop and consult a qualified shop. Don't attempt a repair you're not confident performing safely.
You're responsible for how you act on the app's suggestions. CarFixGPT provides no warranty that a diagnosis is correct, complete, or appropriate for your specific vehicle.
2Accounts
- You may use CarFixGPT as a guest (no registration) with a reduced daily message limit, or register with an email and password for the standard free limit.
- You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account.
- You must provide accurate information when registering. One person or entity may not maintain more than one free account to circumvent usage limits.
- You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account. This is permanent.
3Subscriptions (Premium)
- Premium is a recurring monthly subscription purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play, at the price shown in the app at time of purchase.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings — not through the app itself.
- Refunds are handled by Apple's or Google's standard policies, not by us directly.
4Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose, or to attempt to defeat emissions controls, tamper with odometers, or otherwise assist illegal vehicle modification.
- Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or resell access to the underlying AI models.
- Interfere with the app's operation, rate limits, or other users' access.
- Upload content you don't have the right to share, or that's unlawful, abusive, or infringing.
5AI-generated content
Responses, including any AI-generated images, are produced by third-party language and image models (see the Privacy Policy §2). They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or occasionally nonsensical. Always use your own judgment, and treat safety-critical guidance with appropriate caution as described in §1.
6Your content
You retain ownership of the messages, photos, and voice recordings you submit. By sending them, you grant us the limited right to transmit them to the AI providers listed in the Privacy Policy solely to generate a response to you — nothing more.
7Termination
We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these terms, abuse of the service, or fraudulent subscription activity. You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time.
8Disclaimer & limitation of liability
CarFixGPT is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damage, injury, or loss arising from reliance on the app's suggestions, including damage to your vehicle or personal injury from attempting a repair.
9Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after a change constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be reflected in the app's release notes.
